No Android? No worries.
Nomadic Worker isn’t available for iPhone users just yet. But don’t worry, we’re still thinking of you.
We’re currently building a web app version so you can use Nomadic Worker on any phone, including iPhone. It will be installable to your Home Screen. It’s in progress now, so watch this space or follow us on Facebook for updates.
Alternative option
If you’re an iOS user and don’t want to wait for our web app version (currently in development) you can still ride with Nomadic Worker. Here’s how:
Grab a burner Android – nothing fancy required, just something that runs the android eco system, like a tablet or cheap phone, No SIM needed, just power.
Install Nomadic Worker on that phone.
Pop it in your car and keep it charged – that’s it.
If an employer spots you on the road and wants to hire you, you’ll get a notification. Call comes straight to your iPhone, so you don’t miss a beat.
- If your signed in as an Employer and you find someone you like, click the call now button and transfer the phone number to your IOS for the actual phone call. Done
Simple. Smart. You drive, Nomadic Worker does the rest. Trust me, no endless job searches, just signal to opportunity.
It’s a small price to pay to find a Job as you travel or find that employee your looking for.
Specs suggested for Nomadic Worker to run:
• Android system running at least Android 10 or higher (tested up to Android 15 currently)
• Minimum 2GB RAM (3GB+ recommended for smoother performance)
• At least 16GB internal storage
• Built-in GPS (standard on all modern Android phones)
• Wi-Fi connection – no SIM card needed
• Can stay plugged into a car charger for continuous use.
Developer Note: I have personally tested it on a older Samsung A115F running Android 11, it works fine but it is noticeably slow on that phone, however, that phone was slow from factory 🙂 but is a guide on what a mimimal Android phone can be, anything above that has got to be better 🙂
Disclaimer:
While untested on tablets and car head units, there’s no technical reason it shouldn’t work perfectly. The app doesn’t need cellular – just internet and GPS.
